Stockport East Neighbourhood Team - Pro-Active Patrols

Good evening Resident,

The Hazel Grove Neighbourhood Policing Team has been carrying out high-visibility foot patrols at a number of hotspot locations this evening as part of our ongoing commitment to keeping local communities safe.

During these patrols, officers recovered and seized a weapon. The weapon has been taken off the streets and will now be destroyed, helping to prevent it from being used to cause harm within our community.

In a separate incident, officers spotted a male acting suspiciously whilst riding a bicycle in a known drug hotspot. Following a swift stop and check, it was established that he was wanted for breaching court-imposed bail conditions. He was promptly arrested and taken into custody.

PC Ollie Bailey, one of your local Neighbourhood Officers for the Hazel Grove area, said…

“This evening shows the value of having officers out on foot in the community. Thanks to proactive patrols, a weapon has been removed from our streets and a wanted male has been arrested. We'll continue to be visible in Hazel Grove, listening to concerns and taking action to keep our neighbourhoods safe.”
